Flirting with the flip!

My singing teacher, Jamie Read, suggested that I try this straw, because I was struggling with my passagio, the pitch break between chest voice and head voice. I have been working on this for a couple of years and my voice started "bubbling" at certain points in my register, where my voice was trying to do both chest and head at once, while doing neither very effectively. This created unwanted vibrato and made me feel very self-conscious. I have only used the straw for a couple of weeks and find that the bubbling is more short-lived and I can more easily stabilise it myself, without the straw.
